2023 BMW M2 Leaked Before October Reveal: BMW has already officially teased the next M2 with a camouflage wrap on it, but they were not prepared for the car’s exterior being fully revealed before their official event in October. Alas, that is what has happened. The outgoing M2/M2 Competition/M2 CS are widely considered the best cars the company has produced in the modern era. With compact dimensions, lots of power and a manual transmission option, it does what BMWs of the past only wish they could have done. For the new generation, a lot of that formula will remain, but the design will go in a fresh new direction.
Like the regular 2 Series, the M2 will retain the nameplate’s more upright stance with a long hood and short rear end. The front and rear end designs will see the most significant changes. Though we got a peak at the front end in a minor leak earlier this year, these new photos confirm the squared-off grille elements we saw then. The lower fascia gets a tougher and less rotund appearance, while the headlights seem to retain the regular car’s shape. Out back, the trunk and taillights seem to be pretty close to the regular car, while the lower bumper is taller with an eschewed H shape integrating the lower diffuser. It all looks properly sporty, but perhaps BMW could have gone even further?
