2023 GMC Canyon Debuts: Today, GMC has followed in Chevrolet’s footsteps with the unveiling of their next-generation mid-size pickup. The 2023 Canyon comes complete with an all-new design specifically for America, a new frame, a vastly improved interior, and less complexity. The exterior now comes in a tougher motif with sharper and straighter edges. It will come standard with a 2″ lift from the factory, while the AT4X trim will have a 3″. Like the Colorado, Canyon will only be offered in one crew cab configuration – a 5′ 2″ short bed. Its tailgate features an integrated water-tight storage compartment that is 45 inches wide, but we don’t know how voluminous. GMC’s trick MultiPro Tailgate, however, will not be available, at least not at launch.
There are four trim levels for 2023 – Elevation, AT4, Denali, and AT4X. No matter which trim you choose, the engine under the hood is the same 2.7L turbo 4-cylinder engine that will produce 430 lb.-ft. of torque and 310 horsepower. The most common will be 310. You’ll also get a fancier interior than before, all models coming standard with the large 11.3″ infotainment screen, but no Super Cruise option. As you’d expect, this is a more expensive truck than before. The 2023 Canyon “is set to begin initial production in early 2023 with AT4X in spring 2023.” Reservations for the 2023 GMC Canyon AT4X Edition 1 are open now with MSRP starting at $63,350. MSRP for other 2023 Canyon trims will start around $40,000.
