The all-new, 4th-generation 2023 Honda Pilot is finally here. Sporting a boxier and more rugged persona (especially with the Trailsport trim level), it looks more like a true SUV than a minivan this time around. The top-of-the-line Elite trim retains 8-passenger seating, something that most of the top-trim competitors lack. It also retains its naturally-aspirated V6 engine, but this is an all-new one according to Honda. Paired with their in-house 10-speed automatic, the 3.5L V6 produces 285 horsepower and can send power to front-wheel drive or Honda’s second-generation i-VTM4™ torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system.
“The Honda Pilot has been a family favorite for two decades, and now we’ve made it even better with more space and refinement inside, cool new rugged styling outside, and substantially increased off-road performance to back it up,” said Mamadou Diallo, vice president of Auto Sales, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “Topping it off, the new Pilot TrailSport is an authentic, off-road-capable SUV for true weekend adventures, without sacrificing comfort and on-road dynamics for daily driving.”
The 2023 Pilot has more cargo space than ever before, with up to 113.67 cu.-ft. behind the first row, and up to 22.42 cu.-ft. behind the third row. The interior follows in the same footsteps as the rest of the brand’s 2023 redesigns, but does have unique touches when it comes to details like the air vents. The largest infotainment screen on offer is 9″ but gives you standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A panoramic moonroof and Bose-branded premium audio system are available for the first time.
