2027 Infiniti QX65: What You Need to Know

Infiniti has a new SUV on the way, but it will lean way more toward a sporty, stylish configuration than utility. The 2027 QX65 retains the brand’s long-running alphanumeric naming convention and will offer what Infiniti calls “refined performance with responsive acceleration and sharpened handling.” We’ll wait for the first drive to confirm those claims, but it certainly has the looks to back the promises.

QX65 Pricing and Trims

The 2026 Infiniti QX65 is due to arrive early this summer with a starting price of $53,990 before destination. Three trims will be available at launch, including Luxe, Sport, and Autograph. All three have the same powertrain, but Infiniti differentiated the Autograph trim with larger 21-inch wheels, satin chrome exterior trim, and a black roof. Its interior is also slightly more luxurious, with open-pore wood trim pieces and semi-aniline leather upholstery.

The Luxe and Sports trim features 20-inch wheels, and Sport adds gloss-black exterior trim. Inside, it has a graphite headliner and gloss-black accents. It also spots a more aggressive grille and hidden lug nuts in the wheels.

Luxe Trim MSRP: $53,990

Sport Trim MSRP: $55,690

Autograph Trim MSRP: $62,590

QX65 Design

The new SUV has a sporty, swept-back profile, not unlike Infiniti’s FX models from the early 2000s. It was a wide stance and a sloping roofline that culminates in a rear spoiler. A new Sunfire Red paint color will be available, which uses three layers and gold accents that shimmer in the light. Infiniti said it drew inspiration for the color from the limited Regal Red hue seen on the Nissan GT-R.

Up front, the grille has a three-dimensional look inspired by a bamboo forest, and the updated Infiniti emblem also has a layered look. The exterior lighting elements display a welcome and departure sequence, and the front emblem is illuminated. Instead of puddle lights, the SUV features an “Infiniti Light Path” that projects geometric shapes on both sides of the vehicle.

In the back, the QX has a full-width LED taillight with a light bar and a three-dimensional look. The rear wiper is hidden under the spoiler, which Infiniti says improves rear visibility and gives the SUV a cleaner look from the back.

QX65 Performance

Infiniti equips a turbocharged 2.0-liter variable-compression engine, also called the VC-Turbo. Producing 268 horsepower and 286 pound-feet of torque, the engine can shift its compression ratio to deliver more power or better fuel economy, depending on the situation. It’s paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is standard. While the engine’s design remains cutting-edge years after its introduction, it hasn’t offered the most efficient or powerful setup in other applications. Infiniti has yet to announce fuel economy numbers for the 2027 QX65, so we remain open to surprises.

Transmission tuning leans into the SUV’s sporty feel, with an aggressive shift pattern and standard paddle shifters. Infiniti’s decision to go with a nine-speed automatic instead of a CVT should further improve the SUV’s driving experience, as the brand’s commitment to continuously variable gearboxes sucked the fun out of almost everything they touched. The large 20- and 21-inch wheel options give the Infiniti an aggressive look, and Infiniti says the low-profile tires, combined with the wide wheels, provide enhanced grip and road feel. Towing reaches an impressive 6,000 pounds with the right equipment on board, making the QX65 more capable as an all-around vehicle than some in its class.

QX65 Technology

The QX65 comes standard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Google built-in, which brings Maps, some Play Store features, and Google Assistant. That setup offers expanded voice commands, including the ability to say things like “Play my road trip playlist,” among others. Infiniti’s infotainment system is similar to Nissan’s but features a unique look and layout. It retains the ease of use and simple functionality of Nissan’s systems, and recent Infiniti touchscreens have plenty of processing power, making them responsive and snappy to use while driving.

Base sound for the Luxe trim comes from an 11-speaker stereo. Two Klipsch audio systems are available, including a 600-watt, 16-speaker setup in the Sport trim and a 1,200-watt, 20-speaker system in the Autograph trim. The latter model also has Individual Audio, which adds speakers to the front headrests, allowing the driver to hear targeted audio, such as phone calls or navigation directions, without muddying the sound for other seats. The QX65 will also use a standalone Personalized Sound app, which allows the driver to customize cabin sound through a hearing test with varying tones and volume levels.

QX65 Interior

The base Luxe trim comes with heated eight-way power-adjustable front seats, a power liftgate, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a panoramic sunroof. The Sport trim adds ventilated front seats, and the Autograph brings massaging features and heated rear seats. Infiniti offers a Premium Package for the Sport trim, which includes a motion-activated liftgate. Three-zone automatic climate controls are standard.

While the sloped roof will cut into its utility, the QX65 still offers a decent amount of cargo space. It has 35.8 cubic feet of space behind the second row and up to 67.7 cubic feet with the back seat folded flat. Those figures aren’t terrible, but they’re short of the space offered by the 2026 RAV4, which features 37.8 cubic feet behind the second row and 70.4 with the rear seats down.

QX65 Safety Features

Infiniti equips a range of standard advanced driver assistance systems. The list includes forward collision warnings, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane departure warnings, automatic high beams, rear parking sensors, and ProPilot Assist – an advanced adaptive cruise control system. Available tech includes a rearview mirror camera system and a 10.8-inch head-up display. The Sport and Autograph trims add a 3D surround-view camera system with a wide-angle front camera and an invisible hood view. The Autograph can be upgraded with ProPilot Assist 2.1, which brings hands-free adaptive cruise control with steering, braking, and acceleration support.
