Cadillac Reveals Refreshed 2024 XT4

Cadillac has just revealed the first major refresh for its smallest crossover, the 2024 XT4. Mild updates grace the exterior design, such as a sharper front end with a redesigned LED light array. The rear end looks strikingly similar to the current model, so nothing drastic there. Inside is where things take a drastic turn, however. If you thought the XT4 was at or near the bottom of the class in regards to interior design and materials, it appears that Cadillac has directly addressed those concerns with a stunning redesign. Borrowing the massive curved glass screen cluster from the Lyriq (and to an extent, the Escalade), the entire dashboard of the XT4 takes on a fancier and far more modern persona. The infotainment system is powered by the latest Android Automotive-based software enabling Google Maps and Google Assistant built-in. A new 5G wireless hotspot and wireless Apple Carplay is now available. If you prefer the Android Auto approach, that’s wireless, too. A new 13-speaker AKG Studio-branded sound system rounds out the updates.

Unfortunately, one thing still missing is GM’s Super Cruise Level II hands-free driving assistant. Cadillac claims it will eventually come to the XT4, but it will not be available for the 2024 model year. While you patiently wait for that feature to appear, know that the XT4 will continue on for the rest of its current life cycle with the same 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine making 235 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque via a 9-speed automatic and either front- or all-wheel drive. The next XT4 is expected to be replaced by a fully-electric compact crossover.
