Introducing the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV: Chevy has given us a complete look at the upcoming Blazer EV, which comes in a plethora of flavors and specs and will top out at around $70k for the full-blown SS model. Now that we can see the entire car, it turns out to be a pretty sleek design with a fantastic interior layout. Inside is a massive 17.7″ infotainment touchscreen, optional Super Cruise hands-free driving technology, and advanced safety features like Reverse Automatic Braking and Advanced Park Assist. Blazer EV will be available in 1LT, 2LT, RS, and SS trims. In a surprising and unique twist, it will be available with FWD, RWD or AWD depending on trim and battery pack selection. 1LT will be FWD-only and 2LT will add the option of AWD. RS will give buyers the option to select FWD or RWD, but AWD will still be optional. GM says they wanted to give people the option to choose the drivetrain that fits their environment and needs. The SS will be AWD-only. Range will start at 247 miles in a FWD 1LT and go up to 320 miles in the RS model (we don’t know whether that’s the FWD or RWD model, however).
The battery pack in the Blazer EV will accept charge rates of up to 190 kW. This will bring 78 miles of range back in approximately 10 minutes. A 11.5 kW onboard AC charging module will allow for home charging and public charging. The range-topping SS dual-motor model will produce up to 557 horsepower and 648 lb.-ft. of torque. Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode will help it accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than four seconds. The entire Blazer EV lineup will be built in Mexico and goes on sale starting with 2LT and RS next Summer. Eventually, GM plans to drop the ICE Blazer and pass the torch onto this model as the sole Blazer nameplate. A PPV (police) version will also be available in early 2024.
