Kia’s Un-Minivan | 2022 Kia Carnival First Drive

Yes, the 2022 Kia Carnival has a funny name but look closely and you’ll find a solid minivan, I mean MPV. Like the outgoing Sedona, Kia is trying its hardest to make sure the Carnival looks like an SUV with sliding rear doors. The front looks crazy imposing by family car standard and has cool LED lighting on top trips.

Get inside and you’ll find an overload of tech features. In addition to all the safety gadgets, the Carnival is the only minivan with a dual-screen layout featuring two 12.3-inch displays.

For maximum comfort, the range-topping SX Prestige grade has power-operated captain’s chairs that look like they got plucked out of a domestic first-class cabin.

Under the hood is a new 3.5-liter V6 paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It also rides on the same new platform that underpins the K5 and Sorento. Let’s find out and see how the Carnival stands out as a family car.
