Following the BMW XM crossover concept, BMW is bringing a lot of that bold styling to the upcoming next generation 7 Series and i7 sedans. Today the brand released multiple photographic teasers of the latter, claiming it is the world’s first true luxury sedan (the Mercedes-EQ EQS is technically a hatchback). While the ICE 7 Series is not included in the photos, it will also benefit from the most interesting feature of the i7 – the 31″ BMW Theatre Screen in the rear seat area. Aston Martin has fully revealed what is likely the last application ever of its V12 engine, the 2023 V12 Vantage. Following up the V12-powered DBX707 crossover, the Vantage is powered by a twin-turbo 5.2-liter V12 that actually bests the V8 car’s power-to-weight ratio by more than 20 percent. That translates to 690 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 555 lb.-ft. of torque from 1,800 rpm. More details here.
Order books for the Cadillac Lyriq will finally open on May 19th. The all-electric crossover has been available for pre-order, but soon it will be time to put down deposits at your local Cadillac dealership. Full production begins next week and Cadillac has also hinted at the upcoming Celestiq’s 2023 release. It should be fully unveiled by the end of this year as a flagship electric sedan for the brand. The Nissan GT-R is a dinosaur in the automotive industry. It has been on sale since 2007 and has seen numerous upgrades over the years. It has been on sale in Europe for the last 13 years, but thanks to a 2016 EU/UK regulation over drive-by noise, Godzilla will be discontinued by the end of this month over there. It went into effect in 2021 and caps vehicle noise levels at 72 decibels. This is a drop from 82 decibels in the 1970s.
