It is official, the new 2023 Ford Super Duty will be best in class when it comes to everything important in a heavy duty truck. Horsepower? 500 with the new diesel. Torque? 1,200 lb.-ft. also with the new diesel. A modern10-speed automatic transmission is standard across the line, unlike some of the competition still using 6-speeds. All of that adds up to 8,000 pounds of max payload, 40,000 pounds of max towing, and the biggest, baddest Super Duty ever.
Here is the breakdown of specs for for 2023:
The interesting twist is that 4WD is standard on XLT trims and higher. Ford says that the spec that provides the best-in-class 40,000 lb. towing figure is an F-450 Regular Cab with the high-output diesel engine and the Max Tow Package, but they don’t specify if this is with 4WD or RWD.
The 2023 Super Duty is available now with deliveries beginning in the spring of 2023. Pricing starts at $45,765 including destination. More on the 2023 Ford Super Duty here.
