The all-new 2023 Honda Accord is here, and it does what Honda does best – keeps things simple. Gone is the excellent 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder (sad), new is the largest available infotainment screen the company has ever offered – 12.3 inches. The hybrid model now serves as the ‘high performance version’. It is an updated 4th-generation 2.0L 4-cylinder two-motor electric hybrid with a new gas engine and reconfigured electric motors. Torque has been increased from 232 to 247 lb.-ft., but horsepower is down from 212 to 204.
Inside, Honda is offering the highest trim with a new Google-based Android Automotive operating system. It is capable of Over the Air (OTA) updates and has a variety of Google apps that can be voice-activated with the Google Assistant. Again, those upper trims get a large 12.3-inch infotainment system and an LCD instrument cluster.
Unlike the all-new CR-V, the hybrid will be available on more trims (Sport, EX-L, Sport-L, Touring), while the outgoing 1.5L turbo 4-cylinder will be standard on LX and EX models. It produces 192 horsepower and 192 lb.-ft. of torque mated to a CVT transmission. Available in early 2023, the new Accord will continue to be built a the company’s Ohio factory.
