Almost three years ago, Alfa Romeo introduced a concept car called the ‘Tonale’, a small crossover meant to slot beneath the Stelvio in the brand’s lineup. Based on the Jeep Compass’ front-wheel-drive architecture, the Tonale was expected to arrive by 2020 with Alfa’s first hybrid powertrain. Fast forward to 2022 and we finally have a proper teaser for the production model.

The LED light signature looks very similar to the concept’s, which I think is a great thing. The concept had a very elegant and shapely design for its size, so I hope those elements translate well to the version we will be seeing on public streets. Since the brand entered the U.S. in 2016/2017, no new models have been introduced anywhere globally. As such, a lot is riding on the Tonale’s success, as Alfa has not scene prosperity in the same way new brands like Genesis have. We will find out how much effort the brand put into their second comeback story on February 8th. Stay tuned!
