Hyundai’s Nexo isn’t the first hydrogen fuel cell vehicle in America but it is the first H2 car that actually makes sense. It’s attractive (IMHO), does up to 380 miles on a tank and has about the same room inside as the average mid-sized gasoline crossover. Of course the “chicken and egg” problem is ever present. There are few H2 cars so there are few H2 stations. There’s also the question of how green a hydrogen fuel cell car really is and whether or not a battery electric vehicle is the right direction. Even counting all of that however, I think the Nexo is probably one of the coolest vehicles I’ve driven and if you live in California, the lease deals are crazy cheap. (And include enough hydrogen to get you 50,000 miles).
