Acura isn’t the only company out there with a “busy” dashboard design, this 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 has quite a bit going on as well, although some of the texture matching between different parts is better than in the Acura. Here’s what’s what.
The A-pillar is hard plastic with a leather texture
The upper dash is the same had plastic as 1 with the same color/texture.
The funky “manta ray wing” is made of two materials. This inside section is a semi-translucent grey plastic that appears to scratch easily. Fine scratches are already visible on this tester.
The “inner” dash is a soft touch injection molded component with a “fabric” texture.
This is hard plastic with a texture and color that matches 6.
This is a soft touch injection molded component with a “formica” like color/texture that matches 5.
What do you think? Modern or just too much doing on? Also, how’s #3 strike you? I’m glad it’s not piano black as it doesn’t show scratches as easily as the black plastic spreading like a plague across car interiors, but it does show scratches more easily than the other components on this dashboard.
