2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport Review

Hyundai is on a roll lately. After having spun off their Genesis cars to a dedicated luxury brand the next item on their agenda is a performance car lineup. To start the process Hyundai jammed their 1.6L turbo engine under the hood of the new Elantra Sport. Does that make the Sport a Volkswagen GLI or GTI? Not quite but it does pit the Elantra against the new Civic Sport hatchback and Sentra SR. If that’s not enough oomph, the rumor mill tells us to expect even more power in the Elantra soon. If this is the start of Hyundai’s performance sub-brand the future looks bright.
