Hyundai’s latest hybrid does more than just beat the Prius with 58 MPG combined, it is one of the few no-compromises hybrid cars in America. The low starting price means that the average compact car shopper in America would break even in under two years while enjoying a larger cargo area and (oddly enough) better handling. That makes the Ioniq not just my top hybrid car pick for 2017, but my top compact sedan pick as well. I didn’t see that coming.
