As a fairly conservative company Lexus has dabbled with two door vehicles but the luxury brand wasn’t totally invested until now. With the Lexus RC coupe tackling the compact and mid-size coupe segment Lexus turned their attention to shoppers looking for more power, more pizazz and a six-figure price tag. The result is the all-new Lexus LC 500, essentially the coupe version of the Lexus LS. Although Lexus has hinted that the LC is a Porsche 911 or Mercedes-AMG GT competitor, it is in truth more direct competition to the BMW 6-Series or an alternative that slots between the E-Class and S-Class two doors.
The LC’s personality is very un-Lexus. It’s big, it’s brash, it’s loud and the styling screams “look at me” in a way no other Lexus does. It’s full of Lexus’s latest safety gadgets and represents an excellent value, unfortunately the incredible sounding 5.0L V8 just doesn’t have the thrust we find in the German competition.
