Nissan is bringing sexy back via the Z Proto, a very thinly disguised prototype of the next-generation Z sports car. Drawing inspiration from the 240Z and the 1990s 300ZX (Z32), the Z Proto blends a lot of the cool design cues from the past in a swoopy, retro-modern coupe that’s clearly part of the Z family and a proper successor to the 370Z. Driving enthusiasts rejoice because the next Z retains the 6-speed manual transmission (an automatic will also be offered). Best of all, the new Z will get a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, which is like the same unit found in the Infiniti Q50 and Q60 where it’s rated between 300- to 400 hp.
