2022 Mazda MX-30 | First Drive

Mazda certainly hasn’t been one of the automakers at the forefront of the electric revolution. In fact, the brand hasn’t even offered a hybrid model up until this point. That changes with the all-new MX-30, a tiny all-electric crossover based on the CX-30 with a small battery and……minimal range. About 114 miles from full to empty, which begs the question: does the MX-30 make sense for any demographic? Rumors suggest a range-extended model will be coming later with a possible rotary engine under the hood, but Mazda has not made any official statements on that model yet. Let’s see if the MX-30 makes sense in 2021.
