The 2023 Mercedes-AMG C43 sedan has been revealed with pretty much all of the specs we expected. The 48-volt mild-hybrid 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder under the hood will put out 402 horsepower and 369 lb.-ft. of torque. That’s 17 more horsepower than the outgoing model’s twin-turbo 3.0L V6 engine. AMG’s nine-speed ‘multi-clutch’ automatic transmission will send power to all four wheels via 4MATIC+, which splits power 31% front, 69% rear. More on this here.

2022 Ford F-150 Lightning, exterior

Today, Ford made history launching production of the F-150 Lightning, making it the second battery-electric pickup truck to ever go into serial production (following Rivian’s R1T last September). At the press event for the momentous occasion, Ford CEO Jim Farley hinted that another all-electric truck is on its way and will be produced at the company’s new mega-factory in Stanton, Tennessee. If it were our money, we’d bet the truck next in line to go all-electric is the Maverick. Its standard hybrid powertrain is flying off dealer lots, with the truck itself now outselling the majority of all pickup nameplates in the U.S. Here is the full live stream of the event, Farley makes the comment around the 37 minute mark.

The Genesis G90 is all-new for 2023 with a new mild-hybrid adaptation of the 3.5L twin-turbo V6. It adds a 48-volt electric supercharger  that boosts horsepower to 420, an increase of 45. We weren’t certain if this update would make it under the hood of U.S.-spec G90s, but now we know it will thanks to recent EPA certification documents. More on this engine here.
