2023 Honda Pilot Spied

2023 Honda Pilot spied with minimal camouflage: this isn’t the first time we’ve noticed Honda testing the fourth generation of its three-row crossover. Test mules were spied as early as March of this year, with outlets like MotorAuthority and The Fast Lane (TFL) catching glimpses of the car in various locations around the U.S. since then. This time, Motor1 was the one to acquire photos of the latest test mule, this one shedding quite a bit of camouflage. We can now see how closely related the front end is to the upcoming CR-V. Honda has teased that model with various photos as part of its “Year of the SUV” campaign. In the last two photos I’ve shared, you can compare it to the new Pilot, which looks like it will be adopting an upright take on the CR-V’s grille. It might also be a little boxier overall this time around, but it will likely never return to the super-boxy and tough shape of the first two generations.

While this is definitely a welcome update, it doesn’t look like these front ends will be drastically different from what you will currently find on the Passport and Ridgeline. In regards to the interior, we wouldn’t be surprised if Honda is continuing its new Russian doll approach that started with the new Civic. We do not have any shots of the Pilot’s interior yet, but since HR-V and CR-V have close variations of the Civic’s dashboard design, it is likely this will follow suit.
