2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6 Revealed

2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6 revealed: following a big leak this morning and a handful of teasers this past week, Hyundai has finally pulled the wraps off of the electric sedan. Following VW’s reveal of the ID. Aero concept, we now have two new competitors for the Tesla Model 3, but this one looks the most like a Porsche. Designers, I presume, did their very best to adhere to the gorgeous Prophecy EV concept’s look, but not everything made the transition to production. The same sleek, aerodynamic and droopy shape is here, but the 6 loses the exaggerated hips of the concept.

This is the global reveal, so do keep in mind that some specs and content could change for the U.S.-market car. They did not provide, well, any specs on the powertrain offerings but we should at least expect the same choices currently found on the other E-GMP vehicles. Single- or dual-motor options, rear- or all-wheel drive. 168 hp, 225 hp or 320 hp. 220-303 miles of range depending on configuration. Perhaps an N version in the future with close to 580 horsepower like the upcoming IONIQ 5 N and EV6 GT. Oh, one thing we do know? The coefficient of drag is a stunningly low 0.21. The full reveal will take place on July 14th at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea, where we will get to see the car in its entirety. It will go on sale in certain markets before the end of 2022, while we are not expecting to see it here until well into 2023 as a 2024 model. Stay tuned.
