Chevrolet Unveils the 2024 Equinox EV

Chevrolet Unveils the 2024 Equinox EV: After a light tease of the car earlier this year alongside the Blazer EV, Chevrolet has officially pulled the wraps off of the smaller and more affordable Equinox EV. The big news? It will have a $30k starting price, something consumers really haven’t seen on any new full-electric car reveled in the last year or so. Even the Kia Niro EV starts at $40k. Not only will the Equinox be larger than the Niro, it is expected to outperform it in the specs department. Chevrolet claims that top-spec front-wheel drive models will hit 300 miles of range, while the top-performing all-wheel drive model will produce 290 horsepower and 346 lb.-ft. of torque.

Unlike the larger Blazer EV, this is a front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive affair only. The base 1LT trim in the former drivetrain setup produces 210 horsepower and 242 lb.-ft. of torque. The lineup is rounded out by 2LT, 2RS, 3LT and 3RS trims, all of which will be available with Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance. The top 3RS trim will get an exclusive 19.2 kW Level 2 (AC) on-board charger. Everything else will work with a 11.5 kW unit. All models will have DC fast-charging capability of up to 150 kW, enabling approximately 70 miles of range to be added in 10 minutes, per GM estimates.
