Buick has officially revealed the refreshed 2024 Encore GX. It takes the front end design of the Wildcat concept and grafts it onto the existing Encore GX’s body, while also introducing North America to the brand’s new logo. Like Cadillac did with its logo in 2014, Buick has removed the crest around the three multi-colored slats and made them the sole elements. As for the rest of the car, the interior also receives an overhaul with the introduction of a dual-screen infotainment/instrument cluster array. The Encore GX will now be offered with a more luxurious Avenir trim in addition to the existing sporty ST trim.
Engine offerings remain the same, meaning you still have to choose between two turbocharged 3-cylinders. The base option is a 1.2L mill, while the more powerful choice comes from 1.3L of displacement. It’s not a penalty box thought, the 155 horsepower will feel peppy enough for most drivers. Front-wheel drive versions still use a CVT transmission while all-wheel drive models use GM’s excellent 9-speed automatic. The new starting price for the Preferred trim is $26,895 with destination. The sporty Encore GX ST starts at $28,095, while the range-topping Avenir trim will grab $33,195. Expect these to start hitting dealer lots in May.
