2018 Honda Civic Type-R First Drive

If you’ve always thought that the Civic needed more power and a bigger wing, then Honda has read your mind for 2018 with the all-new Type-R. It also happens to be one of the best hot hatches in America, but can it beat the Golf R or Focus RS? That depends on how much you value all-wheel-drive, which Honda deliberately skipped for the Type-R in order to save weight, improve handling and deliver shockingly good fuel economy for a performance car. Until we can get our hands on one for a full week, enjoy our first stab at the 306 horsepower Honda.
