Four cheapest cars in America Versa vs Spark vs Mirage vs ForTwo

I frequently get asked about the four cheapest, (Um, I mean the four least expensive) vehicles in America, the 2015 Nissan Versa, 2015 Chevrolet Spark, 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage and 2014 Smart ForTwo. These four cars are the only new vehicles you can buy for $15,000 out the door with tax, title, and destination charges included. They are also four cars that are usually trounced by some main-line press outlets as being “cheap and nasty” transportation. While I don’t normally find myself at odds with the rest of the writers out there, I find the Versa and Spark to be (as the British would say) “cheap and cheerful”. The Versa is quite simply one of the least expensive vehicles to buy and own while the Spark the cheapest hatch on offer. Yes both have hard plastic interiors. Yes both have small engines and low-cost fabrics galore. But what do you expect for the price? If you set your expectations to a reasonable level I think you’ll be mightily surprised. How about the Smart ForTwo and the Mitsubishi Mirage that have been roasted by the press? You’ll have to watch to find out.
