Toyota recently announced the all-electric next-generation Highlander, and now it’s the automaker’s luxury brand Lexus’ turn. The new Lexus TZ arrives for the 2027 model year, offering a spacious three-row interior, an estimated 300 miles of range, and standard Direct4 all-wheel drive.
The TZ is expected to go on sale in late 2026, and adds to Lexus’ electric lineup with two battery options, including a 76.96kWh pack and a larger 95.82kWh system. Regardless of the battery, all TZ variants come with all-wheel drive, and some configurations will offer up to 300 miles of driving range.
Updated charging functions include a standard North American Charging System (NACS) port, updated battery and driving preconditioning systems, and a 2-in-1 AC and DC connector port. The TZ can also provide AC power to external devices through an available adapter.

Lexus emphasized the SUV’s interior, saying that it focused on minimizing noise and vibration with aerodynamic mirrors, sound-absorbing materials, and active noise cancellation systems. The first two rows of seats are available with heating and ventilation, and the third-row seats reportedly offer “sofa-like cushioning.”
While we don’t yet have screen sizes, Lexus says the TZ offers a next-generation infotainment system with 5G connectivity, configurable widgets, and a new voice assistance system. It also features more robust EV charge management functions, including an EV range map and an updated routing function for the navigation system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Spotify streaming, and SiriusXM radio are also included.
Lexus Safety System+ 4.0 is standard, offering forward collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, risk avoidance emergency steering assistance, intersection turning assistance, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warnings, and more.
Lexus has not yet released pricing or trim level details for the TZ, but more information will become available closer to the vehicle’s launch later this year.
