Mercedes Pulls A Small 3-Row Rabbit Out Of Their Hat | 2020 GLB 250

Don’t think of the Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class as another vehicle built to fill another narrow niche because this crossover actually has the potential to become one of the brand’s best-selling models. There’s not many vehicles, mainstream or premium, that has a third row option and happens to be a compact crossover. Before you had the Nissan Rogue in that mix but now all you have are the Volkswagen Tiguan, Land Rover Discovery Sport, and Mitsubishi Outlander. The GLB is the  fourth vehicle in that mix and like the others, its third row is quite small and best designated for emergency use.

Look deeper and you’ll find a lot of substance under the GLB’s boxy profile. There’s a lot of room inside, making this crossover extremely practical and flexible for its size. Powering this GLB 250 is a 2.0-liter turbo-four good for 221 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque coupled to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Since its using the same platform as the A-, CLA-, and GLA-Class, the GLB is a FWD-based but is also available with AWD if you live in a region that experiences four-seasons.

In typical Mercedes fashion, be mindful of how you configure your GLB-Class. If you get carried away, you might end up paying almost $60,000 for your boxy compact crossover.
