Nissan Reveals Refreshed 2023 Altima

Nissan Reveals Refreshed 2023 Altima: for its mid-cycle refresh, the sixth-generation Altima sedan receives a new front end design and a larger touchscreen inside. The exterior changes include a new take on the ‘V-Motion’ grille as well as standard LED headlights. The taillights have been restyled slightly, but they do not get the full-LED treatment, unfortunately. There are a few new paint colors as well as new alloy wheel options that go up to 19″ in diameter. The SR trim’s grille, as seen below, receives a blacked-out sporty treatment to further differentiate it from the rest of the trims. Inside, a 12.3″ display replaces the old 8″ display and adds wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and Nissan’s new ‘Door-to-Door’ Navigation system.

Under the hood lie the same two engine options as before: the 2.5L naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder and the 2.0L VC-Turbo 4-cylinder. The latter is now only available on the SR trim. All-wheel-drive is still available if you stick with the base engine, and a CVT is still the sole transmission option for both. Retaining the old base engine is a little bit of a surprise, as the Rogue received a new 1.5L turbo 3-cylinder this year as a replacement for the 2.5. That engine produces 201 horsepower, 225 lb.-ft. of torque, and better fuel economy. Why they couldn’t do that for the Altima, I don’t know. It will go on sale this Fall.
